Santa Fe Railroads
Chartered in 1863, the Atchison Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad's first trains rolled the next year. The line reached Santa Fe, New Mexico in 1880. By 1929, at its peak, the Santa Fe had over 13 000 miles of track. Santa Fe Railroad captures images of historic steam and diesel from across this vast system. The line was so famous that it was memorialized in an Academy Award-winning song. Do you hear that whistle down the line?
